1. Acceptance of Terms

By visiting, browsing, or utilizing the public website of EMT Utah (emtutah.com), or by enrolling in any of our classroom, online, or hybrid EMS programs, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("TOS") and all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from utilizing this website, accessing our student portals, or enrolling in our courses. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time without prior individual notice.

2. Enrollment Requirements

Admission to and enrollment in EMT Utah's educational courses is governed by strict regulations established by the Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (BEMS) and clinical affiliates:

• Age Prerequisite: Students enrolling in EMT-Basic or Advanced EMT (AEMT) programs must be at least 18 years of age by the time of course completion and national/state practical testing. For certain BLS courses, students must be at least 16 years of age.
• Academic Prerequisites: Students must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent to receive state endorsement. Advanced EMT students must hold a current, active Utah EMT license in good standing.
• Tuition and Payment: Tuition must be paid in full or structured under an approved, signed payment plan prior to the first day of class. Failure to meet financial obligations will result in immediate academic suspension.
• Clinical Clearance: Students must complete and pass a federal background check, a multi-panel drug screen, and provide full immunization records (including TB testing and Hepatitis B series) prior to participating in hospital clinical shifts.

3. Attendance Policy

Due to the critical nature of Emergency Medical Services training and the licensing hours required by the Utah Bureau of EMS, attendance is strictly monitored and enforced.

Students are expected to attend 100% of all scheduled classroom lectures, practical skills laboratories, and clinical shifts.

4. Academic Integrity

EMT Utah maintains a zero-tolerance policy for academic dishonesty. EMS professionals are trusted with human lives, and absolute honesty is a core requirement of the field.

Academic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to: cheating on exams, plagiarizing written work, falsifying practical skills sheets, fabricating clinical shift logs, copying other students' work, or helping another student commit an act of academic dishonesty.

Any student found committing an act of academic dishonesty will receive a grade of zero on the assignment or exam, will face immediate review by the Director of Operations, and is subject to immediate expulsion from EMT Utah with a permanent mark on their academic record.

5. Code of Conduct

All students are required to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and safe manner at all times. This applies inside the classroom, during online sessions, at clinical hospital sites, and on ambulance ride-alongs.

Unacceptable conduct includes:

• Insubordination toward instructors, clinical coordinators, or clinical site staff.
• Harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind against other students, staff, or patients.
• Possession or influence of alcohol, recreational drugs, or unauthorized weapons on any EMT Utah campus or clinical site.
• Safety violations that endanger themselves, classmates, instructors, or active patients.

Failure to adhere to the code of conduct is grounds for immediate termination of enrollment.

6. Refund Policy Reference

All tuition refunds, cancellations, and withdrawal requests are governed strictly by our official Refund Policy.

A brief summary of key terms includes: a mandatory 3-day refund request window from the date of registration, a processing time of up to 45 days, and specific non-refundable administrative fees (including seat deposits and background check fees).

7. Intellectual Property

All educational materials provided by EMT Utah-including lectures, digital slides, physical or digital study guides, proprietary skills evaluation sheets, custom practice quizzes, logos, graphics, and video presentations-are the exclusive intellectual property of EMT Utah and are protected by United States copyright and trademark laws.

Students are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use these materials solely for their personal educational study. You may not distribute, reproduce, sell, upload to online sharing sites, or utilize these materials to teach unauthorized independent courses without explicit, written consent from the executive board of EMT Utah.

8. Disclaimers & Liability Limitations

The educational courses and website content provided by EMT Utah are offered "as is" and "as available". While we strive for absolute accuracy in our training, emergency medicine is an evolving field.

EMT Utah makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding course outcomes, state licensing pass rates, or immediate employment guarantees. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of our website or the application of emergency medical skills taught in our classes.

9. Governing Law

These Terms of Service and any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of your enrollment or interaction with EMT Utah shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Utah, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.

Any legal actions, suits, or proceedings arising from these terms must be initiated and handled exclusively in a state or federal court of competent jurisdiction located in Salt Lake County, Utah.
